Okay so you know when you move to a new place thinking that everything is going to be safe for your two small children, partner, and yourself right? Sometimes you are told that your safety is guaranteed when you are signing a lease. Well my friend Jazmine had all of her fears bestowed upon her recently.
"As many of you know I don't like asking for money or help in anyway. I usually help others as much as I can with anything that I can give. Unfortunately this year my father passed away of cancer in January, it was unexpected and hurdled my family into quick moves to find a new place to call home. We found a wonderful place online and checked it out as much as we could. With the assurance from the property manager that it was a safe environment for raising a family we pursed it and moved in on April 10th 2014. Everything seemed to be going fine until a drive by occurred to an apartment next to us and then the following week SWAT raided the same apartment and took out pounds of drugs and an assault rifle. We started asking families around the complex about the place in detail only to find out that we were tricked into moving into a nice looking ghetto. Unfortunately many new families to the place were given the same treatment and tricked in as well. The old management , as there is new management now, thought it would be a great idea to bring working families into a crime ridden ghetto in order to weed out bad tenants. Sadly these nice families are literally being caught in the cross fire of drug deals, constant shootings , and police with K9 raiding the place almost every week."-Jazmine.

These occurring tragedies are effecting their family in many ways.
"I can't and won't let my son outside the apartment. Just last week we had a few gang members come in and fire random shots. One of them was standing outside of my door only ten feet away. My son and husband were standing outside about to go and see the light rail , as my son loves trains, when the gang member looked directly at my husband and turned around shooting off six rounds. My husband got our son back into the house and put him in the bath tub to distract him. He then messaged me not to come home and wait for the okay. I was at target buying my son a new train when I got the message, once I had the okay to come home we stayed in the house trying to hold our composure. My mother came over and I went to put my daughter in the car when the same gang member that was apart of the shootings ran right past me as he was being chased by the cops. I told this to the manager the following day only to be met with , " well if you break your lease it's 1500 plus the rent for the remainding months" even after I stated we had to move for safety reasons we were met with cold and calculated responses. I told them that my husband suffers from PTSD and anxiety, constant shootings and drug dealings weighs heavy on his mental health."-Jazmine.
The amount of fear and stress is weighing in heavily on Jazmine and Leon.
"I can't raise my children here as we are afraid to go outside for anything. We no longer have security paroling around and the gang activity upped in scale to broad day light shootings and drug deals being delivered by CHILDREN!"-Jazmine.
They got a plan so far.
I need to move my family out as soon as possible. We found a place that accepted our applications and the amount to move in along with prorated rent is 2500 + 300 for pet deposit. It's a nice 3 bed 2 bath house in a safer area closer to my family.-Jazmine.
Hear her out.
"If you can donate anything please it will help us move and everything will go to moving! From boxes, uhaul, gas, deposit and prorated and breaking the lease plus the remainding rent will all be covered with the amount specified!
Please help me get my family out of this place, management won't do anything! All they care about is money, human life means nothing to them.
All we want to do is live and love in a peaceful environment."-Jazmine.
Here's the layout.
"I've broken down the costs:
860 ( rent ) x 9 months ( remaining lease ) = 7740 + 1500 ( for breaking the lease ) = 9240 <--This is why no one wants to break their lease!!!!!
The deposit for the new place is 2500 ( deposit and prorated rent ) plus pet deposit is 300
Uhaul is 360.
Gas we are ranging from either 100 to 150. ( We live in California ( high gas ), bit of a drive to the new place )
Remaining 190 will go to boxes, trolly, Tv covers, etc."-Jazmine.
The goal is $12,740.00!
I will update our journey! God Bless!-Jazmine.
